In January, we celebrated the 18th anniversary of La Iglesia Bautista ''El Manantial'' and at the end of February, Vicky was commissioned to be El Manantial's first national missionary. Vicky has desired for several years to go to Chinchil as a missionary to help Pastor Josue Tinta in the small church there. Emily, a missionary teacher and good friend of Vicky, decided that after 8 years of teaching in Lima that the Lord was also calling her to Chinchil.
Vicky went through a short deputation process as God quickly provided all that she would need to go to Chinchil, including men who would go ahead of time to do construction on a place for her to stay. Men from three different churches have gone to Chinchil to prepare the rooms in the basement of the church for Sunday School rooms and lodging for Vicky and Emily. They've ben there two weeks now and last Sunday they were able to hold the first Sunday School classes for the kids up there.
In addition to teaching Sunday School for the kids, Vicky and Emily plan to teach the ladies to read and write in Spanish so they can read the Bible themselves, and help Sarela (Pastor Tinta's wife) to study the Bible and teach her two children to study the Bible. They also brought school supplies to Chinchil as these are hard to come by and are expensive. Their goal is to be able to start a Kid's Club and Ladies' Bible Study as well.
Please be in prayer for these two young ladies as the Lord uses them in Chinchil, Peru to fulfill His purposes.
